The Baltimore Orioles and the Kansas City Royals meet in MLB action from Kauffman Stadium on Tuesday night. Let’s dive into the odds, starting pitching matchup, history and make a prediction for this game.

Odds

Baltimore is a -145 road favorite while Kansas City is a +125 home underdog. The total for this game is set at 9 runs.

Starting Pitching Matchup

Tyler Wells will start here for Baltimore and is 1-1 with a 2.79 ERA and 23 strikeouts this season. Ryan Yarbrough will start here for the Royals and is 0-3 with a 6.35 ERA and 7 strikeouts this season.

Matchup History

Baltimore’s 10-7 win over the Royals back on June 12th, 2022, made it back-to-back wins for the Orioles in this head-to-head matchup.

Trends

Baltimore is 6-1 in their last 7 road games and 13-3 in their last 16 games overall while the over is 4-0 in their last 4 games against a team with a left-handed starter. Kansas City is 16-37 in their last 53 games overall and 3-13 in their last 16 home games while the under is 3-0-1 in their last 4 series-opening games.

Pick

I’m backing the Orioles here. Ryan Yarbrough hasn’t had the easiest time in his switch to Kansas City as he hasn’t been getting a ton of run support and that’s not going to work against an Orioles team that’s playing some solid baseball out of the gate so far this season. Kansas City continues to be one of the worst as they can’t get anything consistent going and they’ve just had little go their way this season and I look for this game to be no different. We’re getting a reasonable price with the far better team so give me Baltimore here.
