The St. Louis Cardinals and the San Francisco Giants meet Sunday in MLB action from Oracle Park. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best bets for this game. Here’s a San Francisco Giants vs St. Louis Cardinals Prediction.

The St. Louis Cardinals will start Michael McGreevy here and McGreevy is 2-0 with a 2.40 ERA and 12 strikeouts this season. This will be McGreevy’s first career start against the Giants. Hayden Birdsong will get the start in this one and is 5-5 with a 4.66 ERA and 77 strikeouts this season. This will be Birdsong’s first career start against the Cardinals.

St. Louis Cardinals Recap

The St. Louis Cardinals come into this one looking to finish the season on a high note after ending up with a 6-5 loss in Saturday’s matchup. The loss put the Cardinals at risk of snapping their series win streak to end the year after series wins over the Rockies, Guardians and Pirates over the last two weeks.

Nolan Arenado has 161 hits along with 23 doubles and 71 RBIs while Brendan Donovan has 161 hits and 69 RBIs with 33 doubles. Why the St. Louis Cardinals will win

  • The Cardinals have won each of their last four games as underdogs against National League opponents following a loss.
  • The Giants have lost four of their last five games as favorites following a home win.
  • The Giants have failed to cover the run line each of their last eight day games against NL Central opponents that held a winning record.
  • The Cardinals have covered the run line in nine of their last 10 games against NL West opponents following a loss.

San Francisco Giants Recap

The San Francisco Giants will try to win the series and end the season on a high after their win on Saturday to even the series up at one win apiece. The win gave the Giants the chance to finish the season with a series win streak intact after knocking off the Diamondbacks, Royals and Orioles over the last two weeks.

San Francisco Giants vs St. Louis Cardinals Prediction

I’m on the Giants here. McGreevy has pitched well in limited action so far, I’ll give him credit for that, but so has Birdsong and I think the Giants bring out the bats to finish the season on a high note for the fans after taking them through a roller coaster in 2024. St. Louis took their much-needed step in the right direction after a disappointing 2023, but I think the Giants show up for the win here. Give me San Francisco.
