The Houston Astros and the Seattle Mariners meet Sunday in MLB action from T-Mobile Park. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best bets for this game. Here’s a Seattle Mariners vs Houston Astros Prediction.
Starting Pitching Matchup
The Houston Astros will send out Ronel Blanco for the start here and Blanco is 9-4 with a 2.56 ERA and 100 strikeouts this season. In his career, Blanco is 0-1 with a 4.50 ERA and 15 strikeouts against Seattle. Bryan Woo will get the nod for the Mariners here and is 3-1 with a 2.45 ERA and 29 strikeouts this season. This will be Woo’s second career start against Houston.
Houston Astros Recap
The Houston Astros come into this one looking for a positive result to end the series and hopefully end the weekend at the top of the AL West with a series against the Oakland A’s on deck to start next week.
Astros Trying To Pull Out Ahead In AL West Race
Going into Saturday, Jose Altuve has 118 hits and a .306 batting average with 14 home runs, 44 RBIs and 18 doubles while Kyle Tucker has a team-high 19 homers with 11 doubles and 40 RBIs. Yordan Alvarez also has 19 homers with 52 RBIs and 21 doubles while Altuve has the Astros’ team lead with 15 stolen bases so far this season. Jeremy Pena also has 99 hits and a .274 batting average as well as 11 stolen bases of his own this season. Alex Bregman’s added 12 homers and 47 RBIs also.
Seattle Mariners Recap
The Seattle Mariners will try to emerge from the weekend regaining their seat atop the AL West mountain after this series with a divisional set with the Angels on deck starting on Monday.
Mariners Falling Apart In The Last Month
Entering Saturday’s matchup, Julio Rodriguez leads the Mariners with 100 hits including a .267 batting average and also has 9 doubles. Cal Raleigh has a team-high 20 home runs along with 61 RBIs and 118 strikeouts. Mitch Haniger also has 8 home runs and 34 RBIs while Rodriguez has a team-high 18 stolen bases and 110 strikeouts as well this season. Dylan Moore has a team-high 14 doubles with 17 stolen bases and Mitch Garver has 13 doubles also this season.
Seattle Mariners vs Houston Astros Prediction
I’m leaning towards the Astros here. I just haven’t been able to fully trust Seattle over the last month or so as this team went from having a hefty division lead in May/June, to all of a sudden battling with an Astros team that I think we all thought would bounce back from a slow start, but not to this extent this early. Blanco you could argue has been their most consistent arm, and while Woo came out in 2024 firing, he’s stumbled in recent starts and I just don’t trust the Mariners’ lineup to back him up in this one if he falters again. Give me Houston.
