The Los Angeles Angels and the Texas Rangers meet Saturday in MLB action from Globe Life Field. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best bets for this game. Here’s a Texas Rangers vs LA Angels Prediction.

Starting Pitching Matchup

The Angels will send out Patrick Sandoval here and Sandoval is 2-6 with a 5.00 ERA and 48 strikeouts this season. In his last five starts against Texas, Sandoval is 1-3 with a 3.63 ERA and 25 strikeouts. Jose Urena will get the start for the Rangers here and is 1-3 with a 3.62 ERA and 21 strikeouts this season. In his career, Urena is 1-1 with an 8.68 ERA and 11 strikeouts against the Angels.

Los Angeles Angels Recap

The Los Angeles Angels come into this one looking to build on their series-opening 9-3 win over the Rangers on Friday. It was a great step in the right direction for the Halos, who were building on their series-closing win over the Cardinals despite losing the series earlier in the week.

Angels Starting To Produce At The Dish

Entering Friday’s opener, Taylor Ward leads the Angels with 45 hits along with 8 home runs and a team-high 26 RBIs. Mike Trout has a team-high 10 home runs along with a pair of triples and 6 stolen bases, but remains out indefinitely with injury while Zach Neto has a team-high 43 strikeouts and 6 stolen bases. Luis Rengifo also has a team-high 9 stolen bases while Jo Adell has 7 home runs, 18 RBIs and 7 stolen bases as well.

Why the Los Angeles Angels will win

  • The Rangers have lost five of their last six games as favorites.
  • The Angels have won each of their last three games as road underdogs.
  • The Rangers have failed to cover the run line each of their last six games against teams that held a losing record.
  • The Angels have covered the run line in seven of their last eight games as road underdogs following a win.
  • The Angels have led after 5 innings in five of their last six games as underdogs.

Texas Rangers Recap

The Texas Rangers will try to bounce back from their frustrating loss in Friday’s opener, which gave the Rangers their 6th loss in 7 games and put Texas at risk of a third straight series loss out of the gate after falling to the Guardians and Rockies in the last week.

Rangers Looking For Answers

Marcus Semien leads the Rangers with 53 hits along with 10 doubles, 8 home runs and 31 RBIs while Adolis Garcia has a team-high 10 home runs and 34 RBIs with 9 doubles as well as 4 stolen bases. Evan Carter also has 5 home runs with 15 RBIs while Jonah Heim has 4 homers and 26 RBIs and Josh Smith has a team-high 11 doubles.

Why the Texas Rangers will win

  • The Angels have lost each of their last 13 games against American League opponents following a road win.
  • The Rangers have won seven of their last eight games following a home loss.
  • The Angels have failed to cover the run line in 11 of their last 12 games as underdogs against the Rangers following a road win.
  • The Rangers have covered the run line in seven of their last eight games as favorites against the Angels following a home loss.

Texas Rangers vs LA Angels Prediction

I’m on the over here. I just frankly don’t trust the starting pitching matchup in this game, as I have Sandoval as one of the weakest options out of this Angels rotation, and Jose Urena has not been a trustworthy option for me for the better part of his major league career. The Angels are starting to cook offensively, and the Rangers still have one of the more potent lineups in baseball so give me the over here.
