The Minnesota Twins and the Toronto Blue Jays meet Saturday in MLB action from Rogers Centre. Here’s a Toronto Blue Jays vs Minnesota Twins prediction. This will be the second installment in a three-game series. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best bets for the game.

Minnesota Twins Betting Preview

The Twins played the Seattle Mariners in their early-week series. Minnesota lost the opener of that set but came back to win the remaining pair. On Friday in the series opener versus the Jays, the Twins eked out a 3-2 win thanks to seven team hits. Starting pitcher Joe Ryan finished on 7.0 innings, one earned, six hits, zero walks and seven strikeouts.

In the starter role for the Saturday matchup, the Twins will send out Simeon Woods Richardson. This year Richardson is 1-0 with a 1.74 ERA in four starts. He has 21 Ks in 20.2 innings. Richardson is 1-1 with a 3.26 ERA in six career games (five starts).

Toronto Blue Jays Betting Preview

Over on the Jays’ side, they played a pair of games versus the Philadelphia Phillies this week. Toronto lost in a blowout 10-1 Tuesday but won Wednesday’s matchup 5-3. In game one against the Twins, the Jays couldn’t finish off the comeback in the bottom of the ninth. Yusei Kikuchi posted 8.0 innings in the start with four hits, two earned, no walks and three Ks.

It’ll be Kevin Gausman in the starter slot for the Blue Jays on Saturday. This year Gausman is 2-3 with a 3.78 ERA in seven starts. Gausman has 31 Ks in 33.1 frames total. Over his career Gausman is 90-94 with a 3.84 ERA in 305 outings (266 starts).

Twins vs Blue Jays Injury Notes

Twins RP Daniel Duarte underwent UCL Revision surgery on his right elbow Tuesday. Duarte is on the 60-day Injury List.

Blue Jays SP Yariel Rodriguez (back) was playing catch from 90 feet on Friday. RP Chad Green threw a bullpen session on Friday. RF George Springer is day-to-day with an illness.

  • The Twins have covered the run line each of their last 10 games at Rogers Centre against teams that held a losing record.

Toronto Blue Jays vs Minnesota Twins Prediction

I’ll stick with the Jays. Gausman is looking good these days. Over his last three starts, Gausman has just one earned run in 19.0 innings on 15 combined hits and three walks, going 2-1 in that time. As for Richardson, he’s been pretty solid lately as well and is coming off 6.0 clean frames versus the Mariners.

On Friday the Blue Jays got a combined seven of eight team hits from just three players. Much of the offense came up empty and couldn’t capitalize on the great pitching effort. Toronto needs to get the bats going on Saturday.
