The Phoenix Suns collide with the Toronto Raptors on Friday night from US Airways Center.
Head to head, the road team is 5-2 ATS in the last 7 meetings while the favorite is 5-1 ATS in the last 6 meetings. The Suns are 13-3-1 ATS in their last 17 games playing on 1 days rest and 13-5-1 ATS in their last 19 games overall, but just 1-7 ATS in their last 8 home games vs. a team with a road winning % of less than .400. I will continue to write articles and make picks everyday until the foreseeable future, but man am I over the NBA at the moment from a betting stand point. I don’t think I’m the world’s greatest basketball capper, not by a long shot, but I happen to think I know what I’m talking about after closely watching and studying the NBA for the last 15+ years, however, this season has been my worst since I started writing for the site some 4-5 years ago. With all of these weird results every night, I just can’t get a grasp on this season, and I don’t think I’m the only one. I’m sure things will turn around soon enough, but you have been warned, tread carefully with these picks.
Enough ranting, let’s get on with this game. Before I get into the pick, how the hell did the Toronto Raptors manage to not cover the spread in their game against the Golden State Warriors on Tuesday night? For those who missed it, Toronto were up by 27 points early in the third quarter and it looked like they were going to cruise to an easy cover and victory. Alas, in classic Raptors style, they were outscored 42-15 in the fourth quarter and ended up losing the game by nine points. There were an eight-point underdog. Wow. If anyone had the Raps in that game, I feel for you.
Lets cut straight to the chase, I’m taking the over in this game. The over is 4-0 in the Raptors last four road games and 8-3 in their last 11 overall. For Phoenix, the over is 4-0 in their last four home games and 4-1 in their last five overall. The Suns homes games have been very high scoring recently as their last three at US Airways Center have finished on 219, 226 and 216. Meanwhile, the Raptors have averaged a shade under 100 points in their last seven games, but that 83 point outing against the Heat this time last week brought their average down. They have also given up 112 points in each of their last two games. Like the over here...
