The Detroit Pistons travel to Orlando to face the Magic on Friday night NBA action.
Head to head, the Pistons are 16-7 ATS in the last 23 meetings in Orlando while the home team is 5-2 ATS in the last 7 meetings and the underdog is 13-6 ATS in the last 19 meetings. The Magic are 16-34-1 ATS in their last 51 games vs. a team with a losing S.U. record and 16-37 ATS in their last 53 home games. The Pistons on the other hand are 21-6 ATS in their last 27 road games vs. a team with a home winning % of less than .400, 19-7-1 ATS in their last 27 vs. Eastern Conference and 15-5-2 ATS in their last 22 road games.
The Detroit Pistons might be a lot of things, but one thing you can't fault them on has been their play away from home lately. Since their 93-85 loss in Atlanta back on the 20th of November, the Pistons have won seven of eight road games and covered in six of those. Among those wins have come victories at places like Miami, Chicago and Indiana by an average of 10.6 points per game if you don't mind.
Meanwhile, the Orlando Magic has opened up their six-game home stand with three straight losses to drop them to 8-20 on the season. What's worse, those three losses have come against teams with a combined record of 25-61. Even though no defeat was by over five points, Orlando failed to cover the spread in each of their last contests.
If your looking for a total, then the over has to be in play here considering pretty much every Pistons game this season has gone over, well, 23 of 30 to be exact. The over is also 4-1-1 in the last 6 meetings, 22-8-1 in Pistons last 31 road games, 40-17-1 in Pistons last 58 overall and 4-1 in Magic last 5 home games.
How can you not love Detroit here? I mean this team has won seven of eight away from home and against the two premier teams in the Eastern Conference. The Magic can't even beat the likes of Utah, Sacramento and New York at home recently, so how they shouldn't stand a chance here, in theory. Maybe it's too good to be true, but the Pistons are definitely the play in this one...
