The Denver Nuggets look for their third straight win as they host the reeling Boston Celtics tonight.
Head to head, the Celtics are 5-2 ATS in the last 7 meetings and 2-7 ATS in the last 9 meetings in Denver while the home team is 17-5 ATS in the last 22 meetings and the favorite is 12-5 ATS in the last 17 meetings. The Nuggets are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 home games, 0-4 ATS in their last 4 home games vs. a team with a road winning % of less than .400 and 2-8 ATS in their last 10 games overall. The Celtics on the other hand are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 road games, 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games following a S.U. loss and 1-6-1 ATS in their last 8 games overall.
Guess what? The Denver Nuggets are back to their high scoring ways, and it's about time too. It's started when they scored 102 points in a home loss to the Philadelphia 76ers on New Year's day. Since then, the Nuggets have poured in 111 points against the Memphis Grizzlies and most recently, a whopping 137 points in a comfortable win over the Los Angeles Lakers on Sunday night. That's an average of 116.6 in their last three after failing to reach 100 points in 11 of their previous 13 games. It's no secret that Denver is at it's best when they are pushing the pace and trying to score often and early.
What more can you say about the Boston Celtics expect that they are in a slump right now, having dropped four straight and seven of eight overall. Truth be told, the Celtics aren't anything special on either side of the ball as they have scored over 100 points in just three of their last nine games, while also giving up an average of 101.7 points in those contests. Boston did land on 215 total points in their clash with the Oklahoma City Thunder on Sunday night though.
These two teams have also already met once this season with the Celtics coming away with a 106-98 win at home. Look, I'm not really in love with anything in this game, but I think the over is our best shot at a winner. I think that Denver will continue their high scoring ways I expect the Celtics to finish with around 94-98 points, which will be enough for the over to hit...
