For the second and final time this season, the Los Angeles Clippers and Cleveland Cavaliers will play one another. The Cavs surprisingly won the first meeting back in December, 88-82.
The Cavaliers have actually started this three-game road trip with two solid victories over Phoenix and Golden State. Those wins helped snap a four-game losing streak. On the season, the Cavs are averaging 97.2 points on 42.8 percent shooting and are allowing 101.5 points on 45.4 percent shooting. However, they’re getting a nice boost from the three ball, as they’re shooting a cool 41.9 percent from downtown in their last five games. The Cavs are 30-36 ATS overall and 14-20 ATS on the road.

The Clippers have now won 10 straight games and are quietly gaining ground on the second seed in the West. Just in their last five games, they’re averaging 114 points on 52.4 percent shooting and are allowing 98.4 points on 44.8 percent shooting. Just terrific ball across the board, and those wins include Golden State, Houston and Oklahoma City. Blake Griffin continues his MVP caliber season, as he’s scored no less than 20 points in 26 straight games. The Clippers are 38-28-1 ATS overall and 17-16 ATS at home.
The Cavaliers are 8-1 ATS in their last 9 games following a SU win and 7-2 ATS in their last 9 road games. The Clippers are 7-2-1 ATS in their last 10 games overall and 4-1-1 ATS in their last 6 games vs. a team with a losing SU record. The Cavaliers are 6-1 ATS in the last 7 meetings against the Clippers, while the underdog is 5-1 ATS in the last 6 meetings.
Can the Cavs luck continue? I doubt it. This is a team that just lost seven of its last nine before these two positive wins. The Clippers are simply playing at another level and are blowing teams out of the water as of late.
Don’t expect anything different in this matchup.
