The Los Angeles Clippers and the Phoenix Suns collide at the Phoenix Suns Arena on Sunday night.
The Los Angeles Clippers have been in decent form as they’ve won four of their first six games, but they are looking to bounce back in this one after falling short against the Jazz in a 106-100 loss on Friday. Paul George led the team with 25 points, eight rebounds, four assists and six steals, Kawhi Leonard added 20 points with 16 rebounds and nine assists while Serge Ibaka chipped in with 13 points. As a team, the Clippers shot just 38 percent from the field and 13 of 33 from the 3-point line, but they were slow to start and found themselves trailing by as many as 20 points in the fourth quarter, before rallying to within one point in a tight finish.
Meanwhile, the Phoenix Suns have been the form team of the league as they’ve won five of their first six games and they will be gunning for a fifth straight victory after edging out the Nuggets in a 106-103 road win last night. Devin Booker led the team with 22 points, DeAndre Ayton added 22 points with 11 rebounds on 10 of 13 shooting while Chris Paul added 21 points with six assists. As a team, the Suns shot 48 percent from the field and 13 of 35 but once again they turned to Paul and Booker when things got close and once again, they delivered down the stretch.
Looking at the betting trends, the Clippers are 13-4 ATS in their last 17 road games, 1-4 ATS in their last five games against a team with a winning record, 36-15 ATS in their last 51 games following a loss. The Suns are 8-0 ATS in their last eight home games, 13-3 ATS in their last 16 games against a team with a winning record and 15-2 ATS in their last 17 games overall.

The Clippers were in great form before getting dropped by the Jazz in their last outing, but they’re up against the hottest team in the league in the Suns who represent decent value as underdogs here. The Clippers are the more talented team and they are 12-4 ATS in the last 16 meetings overall, but the Suns are 8-0 ATS in their last eight home games and 15-2 ATS in their last 17 games overall and I think those trends continue as the Suns pull off the minor upset here.
