The San Antonio Spurs and Orlando Magic meet Sunday in NBA preseason action at the Amway Center. The San Antonio Spurs look for a win to rebound from a 1-2 start in the preseason. The Orlando Magic need a win to rebound from a rough 0-2 preseason start.

The San Antonio Spurs have lost five of their last eight preseason games. The San Antonio Spurs are averaging 107 points on 44.4 percent shooting and allowing 103 points on 42.4 percent shooting. Keldon Johnson is averaging 17 points and 3.3 rebounds while Bryn Forbes is averaging 15.7 points and 1.3 assists. Dejounte Murray is the third double-digit scorer and Derrick White is dishing three assists. The San Antonio Spurs are shooting 34.3 percent from beyond the arc and 71.2 percent from the free throw line. The San Antonio Spurs are allowing 30 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 52 rebounds per game.

The Orlando Magic have lost seven of their last nine preseason games. The Orlando Magic are averaging 91.5 points on 38.3 percent shooting and allowing 101 points on 36.9 percent shooting. Cole Anthony is averaging 14 points and six rebounds, while Moritz Wagner is averaging 11.5 points and three rebounds. Wendell Carter Jr. is the third double-digit scorer and Mo Bamba is grabbing 6.5 rebounds. The Orlando Magic are shooting 36.8 percent from beyond the arc and 75 percent from the free throw line. The Orlando Magic are allowing 42.7 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 48.5 rebounds per game.

I’m not running to the window to back either of these teams, but there’s no question the Spurs have been more impressive through three games. The Orlando Magic have done nothing on the offensive side of the ball through two games, and they’re getting torched defensively from deep. Two teams that have had little preseason success over the years, but I have no choice but to lean Spurs on the road.
