The Portland Trailblazers play host to the Los Angeles Lakers at the Moda Center on Saturday night.

The Los Angeles Lakers have been in decent shape as they’ve won five of their past seven games overall, but they will be hoping to bounce back in this one after having their three-game win streak halted by the Thunder in a 107-104 home loss on Thursday. Anthony Davis led the team with 29 points, 18 rebounds and five assists, Russell Westbrook added 27 points with six rebounds and five assists while Carmelo Anthony chipped in with 21 points off the bench. As a team, the Lakers shot just 41 percent from the field and 12 of 33 from the 3-point line as they took the early lead and looked to be in control after leading by as many as 19 points, before getting run down in the third quarter where the Thunder poured in 35 points to beat them for the second time in a week.

Meanwhile, the Portland Trailblazers have been in a bit of a funk as they’ve lost five of their first nine games overall, but they will be feeling much better after arresting a three-game slide with a 110-106 home win over the Pacers last night. CJ McCollum led the team with 27 points and six assists, Norman Powell added 25 points, Robert Covington scored 19 points while Anfernee Simons chipped in with 16 points off the bench. As a team, the Trailblazers shot 48 percent from the field and 17 of 39 from the 3-point line as they looked to be in trouble after trailing by nine points in the fourth quarter, but they were able to come back and win behind despite Damian Lillard finishing with just four points on two of 13 shooting in one his worst games of his career.

Looking at the betting trends, the Lakers are 8-21-1 ATS in their last 30 games overall and 1-9-1 ATS in their last 11 games against a team with a losing record. The Trailblazers are 6-0 ATS in their last six Saturday games and 3-7 ATS in their last 10 games overall.

Head to head, the under is 6-2 in the last eight meetings overall, the Lakers are 10-4 ATS in the last 14 meetings overall and the Lakers are 6-0 ATS in the last six meetings in Portland.

The Lakers are capable of beating most teams in the league if they put their minds to it, but they took the lowly Thunder for granted twice in the last week and got burned both times. The Trailblazers haven’t been playing anywhere near their best lately as Lillard continues to struggle with his shot, but they’re going to turn things around sooner rather than later and I think that begins with a statement win at home against an inconsistent Lakers team who could again be without LeBron James and Anthony Davis.
