The Brooklyn Nets and the New Orleans Pelicans duke it out at the Smoothie King Center on Friday night.

The Brooklyn Nets have been on a tear lately as they’ve won six of their past seven games and they will be looking to stay hot after routing the hapless Magic in a 123-90 road win on Wednesday. Kevin Durant led the team with 30 points on 11 of 12 shooting, LaMarcus Aldridge added 21 points with eight rebounds off the bench while James Harden tallied a triple-double of 17 points with 11 rebounds and 11 assists. As a team, the Nets shot 50 percent from the field and 16 of 37 from the 3-point line as they poured in 37 points in the second quarter to take a 12-point lead into halftime, before making it a complete blowout in the second half where they held the Magic to just 37 points. Patty Mills finished with just six points on one of seven shooting while Blake Griffin finished scoreless on zero of five shooting.

Meanwhile, the New Orleans Pelicans have been the coldest team in the league as they’ve lost 11 of their first 12 games so far and they will be hoping to arrest an eight-game slide after getting stopped by the Thunder in a 108-100 home loss on Wednesday. Nickeil Alexander-Walker led the team with 33 points, 10 rebounds and four assists, Jonas Valanciunas added 25 points with 15 rebounds while Devonte’ Graham chipped in with 18 points. As a team, the Pelicans shot just 35 percent from the field and nine of 35 from the 3-point line as they scored just 19 points in the second quarter to fall behind at halftime, before the Thunder made another push in the third quarter to put the Pelicans behind by as many as 21 points. The Pelicans still managed to make a run in the fourth quarter, but they just left themselves too much ground to make up.

Looking at the betting trends, the Nets are 17-5 ATS in their last 22 games against a team with a losing record and 8-3 ATS in their last 11 games following a win of more than 10 points.

Head to head, the over is 22-4 in the last 26 meetings overall, the Nets are 5-1 ATS in the last six meetings in New Orleans and the Nets are 6-0 ATS in the last six meetings overall.

The Nets have really started to heat up lately as they’re just running through teams at the moment as the Magic found out on Wednesday and it’s hard to imagine anything but a similar result against the struggling Pelicans who are riding an ugly eight-game losing streak. The Nets are 17-5 ATS in their last 22 games against a team with a losing record and they are 5-1 ATS in the last six meetings in New Orleans, so I’m taking the Nets all the way in this spot.
