The Detroit Pistons and the Houston Rockets duke it out at the Toyota Center on Friday night.

The Detroit Pistons have been in terrible form as they’ve lost 18 of their last 19 games overall and they will be hoping to avoid an eighth straight loss after falling painfully short to the Thunder in a 107-106 road loss on Wednesday. Jaden Ivey led the team with 24 points and nine assists, James Wiseman tallied 14 points with 11 rebounds on seven of nine shooting while Cory Joseph chipped in with 13 points and five assists off the bench. As a team, the Pistons shot 50 percent from the field and 16 of 33 from the 3-point line as they really took it to the Thunder in the first half and they looked set for victory when they took the lead with just 14.1 seconds remaining, only to see the Thunder’s Jalen Williams make the game-winning tip shot at the buzzer to snatch the game from the Pistons in the end.

Meanwhile, the Houston Rockets have been in a slump as they’ve lost 10 of their last 13 games overall and they will be hoping to put an end to a seven-game slide after getting beaten by the Nets in a 123-114 road loss on Wednesday. Kevin Porter Jr. led the team with 31 points, nine rebounds and six assists, Alperen Sengun added 21 points, 12 rebounds and one block while Kenyon Martin Jr chipped in with 15 points. As a team, the Rockets shot 46 percent from the field and nine of 30 from the 3-point line as they really took it to the Nets and even held the lead late in the fourth quarter, before the Nets closed the final 2:52 on a 18-4 run to snatch the game away from them in a disappointing finish.

Looking at the betting trends, the Pistons are 1-5 ATS in their last six road games, 1-5 ATS in their last six games against a team with a losing record and 2-5 ATS in their last seven games overall. The Rockets are 1-3-1 ATS in their last five home games, 4-1-1 ATS in their last six games against a team with a losing record and 2-5 ATS in their last seven games overall.

Head to head, the Pistons are 8-3 ATS in the last 11 meetings overall and the Pistons are 7-0 ATS in the last seven meetings in Houston. The Pistons are shorthanded again as Isaiah Stewart, Bojan Bogdanovic and Alec Burks are still out, while the Rockets have ruled out Jae’Sean Tate and they have Kenyon Martin listed as questionable. You really couldn’t back either team with much confidence these days, but the Rockets have been marginally better and they are 4-1-1 ATS in their last six games against a team with a losing record. This is a game I’d rather stay away from, but if I had to choose, I’d rather go with the Pistons who are 7-0 ATS in the last seven meetings in Houston.
