The Chicago Bulls travel to the Barclays Center to take on the Brooklyn Nets on Sunday night. Here’s a Bulls vs Nets Prediction.

Chicago Bulls

The Chicago Bulls have been in a real slump as they’ve lost six of their past seven games and they will be hoping to snap a three-game skid after getting routed by the Raptors in a 121-108 road loss on Friday. Zach LaVine led the team with 36 points on 16 of 23 shooting, DeMar DeRozan added 19 points while Coby White chipped in with 14 points. As a team, the Bulls shot 51 percent from the field and 12 of 27 from the 3-point line as they struggled to find their offense outside of LaVine and were always playing from behind after getting outscored by 36-22 in the first quarter. Only four players finished in double figures in scoring and the Bulls only got nine points out of Nikola Vucevic who played 36 minutes.

Chicago Bulls Team Facts

  • The Bulls have lost 14 of their last 15 road games against Atlantic Division opponents following a loss.
  • The Bulls have covered the spread in seven of their last eight games as underdogs against the Nets following a loss.
  • Each of the Bulls’ last five games at Barclays Center have gone UNDER the total points line.

Brooklyn Nets

Meanwhile, the Brooklyn Nets have split their last six games overall and they will be eager to build some momentum after snapping a three-game skid with a 112-97 home win last night. Mikal Bridges led the team with 24 points, six rebounds and three assists, Cameron Johnson added 19 points with 10 rebounds and five assists while Dorian Finney-Smith chipped in with 16 points on seven of nine shooting. As a team, the Nets shot 50 percent from the field and 14 of 36 from the 3-point line as they hit the ground running in this one, exploding for 37 points in the second quarter to take a 10-point lead into halftime that only grew in the second half.

Brooklyn Nets Team Facts

  • The Nets have lost six of their last seven games as home favorites on the second leg of a back-to-back.
  • The Nets have failed to cover the spread in each of their last eight games as home favorites on the second leg of a back-to-back.
  • Each of the Nets’ last seven games against the Bulls following a home win have gone UNDER the total points line.

Peter’s Pick

The Bulls could be shorthanded here as Zach LaVine and Alex Caruso are both questionable, while the Nets have ruled out Dennis Smith Jr, Cam Thomas and Ben Simmons. The Bulls have struggled to build any momentum this season and they’re really going to struggle to score points if LaVine sits this one out, so I will happily side with the more consistent Nets despite them playing their second game of a back to back set.

Joe Hall's Free Pick: Brooklyn -3.5
