The Utah Jazz and Brooklyn Nets meet Monday in NBA preseason action at the HP Field House.

The Utah Jazz look for another victory after improving to 1-1 in scrimmages after a two-point win over the Miami Heat. The Utah Jazz are averaging 111 points on 47.5 percent shooting and allowing 107.9 points on 45.2 percent shooting. Donovan Mitchell is averaging 24.2 points and 4.2 assists while Bojan Bogdanovic is averaging 20.2 points and 4.1 rebounds. Jordan Clarkson is the third double-digit scorer and Rudy Gobert is grabbing 13.7 rebounds. The Utah Jazz are shooting 38.3 percent from beyond the arc and 77.2 percent from the free thitem line. The Utah Jazz are allowing 35.1 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 45.1 rebounds per game.

The Brooklyn Nets look for another victory after surpassingly beating the San Antonio Spurs on Saturday. The Brooklyn Nets are averaging 110.8 points on 44.4 percent shooting and allowing 111.4 points on 44.2 percent shooting. Spencer Dinwiddie is averaging 20.6 points and 6.8 assists while Caris LeVert is averaging 17.7 points and 4.1 rebounds. Joe Harris is the third double-digit scorer and Taurean Prince is grabbing six rebounds. The Brooklyn Nets are shooting 34 percent from beyond the arc and 74.4 percent from the free thitem line. The Brooklyn Nets are allowing 35 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 48.5 rebounds per game.

The Utah Jazz haven’t been all that impressive through two games, as they got beat up by the Phoenix Suns and won by just two points against a Heat team that wasn’t playing their best two players. On the flip side, the Brooklyn Nets are a lot like the Washington Wizards in that they’re barely putting out an NBA roster due to so many of their top players either sitting out due to the pandemic or with injuries. The Utah Jazz may have issue finding their form and getting back in the swing of things, but they’re at least putting a full NBA roster on the court. We can’t say the same thing for the Brooklyn Nets.

I’d give the edge to the Utah Jazz in this contest.
