The Golden State Warriors travel to the Ball Arena to battle the Denver Nuggets on Thursday night.
The Golden State Warriors have been in a major slump as they’ve lost nine of their past 12 games overall, but they will be eager to build some momentum after stopping a five-game slide with a 112-97 win on Tuesday. Jonathan Kuminga led the team with 21 points, six rebounds and six assists off the bench, Klay Thompson and Jordan Poole each scored 20 points while Stephen Curry chipped in with 15 points and five assists. As a team, the Warriors shot 47 percent from the field and 13 of 34 from the 3-point line as they opened the second quarter on a 31-11 run to open a 20-point lead, before going on another run in the third quarter to push the margin out to 29 points at one point.
Meanwhile, the Denver Nuggets have been in red-hot form as they’ve won 12 of their last 14 games overall and they will be eager to stay hot after last night’s 106-100 road win over the Kings. Nikola Jokic continued his ridiculous form as the led the team with 38 points, 18 rebounds and seven assists, Monte Morris added 20 points while Aaron Gordon and Bryn Forbes each scored 11 points. As a team, the Nuggets shot 48 percent from the field and nine of 35 from the 3-point line as they got off to a quick start and poured 63 points in the first half to lead by as many as 18 points, before going on a pivotal 11-3 run late in the fourth quarter to escape with the narrow win after the Kings rallied to take the lead.
Looking at the betting trends, the Warriors are 2-5-1 ATS in their last eight road games, 1-6 ATS in their last seven games against a team with a winning record and 3-10-1 ATS in their last 14 games overall. The Nuggets are 4-9 ATS in their last 13 home games, 3-1-1 ATS in their last five games playing on zero days’ rest and 9-4 ATS in their last 13 games overall.
Head to head, the under is 5-2 in the last seven meetings overall and the Warriors are 8-3 ATS in the last 11 meetings overall.
The Warriors will again be without Andre Iguodala and Gary Payton, while Otto Porter Jr. is currently listed as day to day. The Nuggets currently have Will Barton listed as questionable for this one, but the good news is that Bones Hyland and Zeke Nnaji are both expected to return. The Warriors are 8-3 ATS in the last 11 meetings overall, but the Nuggets are clearly the team in better form and I think they represent decent value as the underdogs in this spot.
