Detroit Pistons vs Miami Heat Player Prop Picks 11-12-24

The Miami Heat will face the Detroit Pistons at Little Caesars Arena on November 12, 2024. The Heat are favored to win with the spread being Heat -2.5 and a total of 219.5. This suggests the Heat have a solid edge heading into the matchup, especially given their experienced roster led by Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo. The Pistons, though an underdog, will look to the continued development of Cade Cunningham and Jaden Ivey to keep the game competitive.

This is an interesting matchup. We’ve seen the Pistons improve from last year and the Heat came out of the gate struggling. With that being said the Heat have performed much better on the road this season coming into this one 4-1 ATS on the road. Overall I expect a close, low-scoring game between these two teams.

Tim Hardaway Over 2.5 Three Pointers

Tim Hardaway Jr. has been an efficient three-point shooter in the 2024-25 season, averaging 3.1 three-pointers per game on 47% shooting. This marks a solid contribution to the Detroit Piston’s perimeter offense, as he continues to stretch the floor alongside Cade Cunningham. His shooting range has been a critical asset, and he has been particularly effective in high-volume shooting situations. Hardaway’s consistency from beyond the arc provides the Pistons with a reliable scoring option on the perimeter.

Tim Hardaway has been a nice addition to this Detroit team and he’s been by far their best and most consistent three-point shooter this season. Even though the Heat are known for their good defense they’ve been susceptible to giving up threes this season. The Heat are giving up 14.5 three-pointers per game to opposing teams which is the 5th most in the league. In what should be a close game, I expect Hardaway to have the volume to get at least 3 three-pointers.

Bam Adebayo Under 9.5 Rebounds

Bam Adebayo has been averaging 8.8 rebounds per game over the first nine games played. His rebounding breakdown shows solid contributions both offensively and defensively, with averages of 2.9 offensive rebounds and 5.9 defensive rebounds per game. Adebayo’s total rebounding output has been a key factor in the Miami Heat’s early-season efforts.

We’ve seen Bam Adebayo’s rebounding efforts fluctuate from game to game. He’s gone back-to-back games with less than 10 rebounds. Now that Kevin Love is back in the lineup playing the Power Forward position he’ll take some of Adebayo’s rebound opportunities as we saw in the Heat’s last game against the T-wolves. This Pistons team is also no slouch on the boards. They’re allowing 49.5 rebounds per game to opposing teams which is the 5th fewest in the league. I think we see a third game in a row with Bam Adebayo getting less than 10 rebounds.

Jaden Ivey Under 17.5 Points

Jaden Ivey is averaging 19.6 points per game through the early stages of the 2024-2025 season. He is shooting 46.7% from the field and 39.0% from three-point range. Along with his scoring, Ivey contributes 4.5 rebounds, 3.6 assists, and 1 steal per game. The Pistons have to be thrilled that Cade Cunningham is getting help on offense.

We’ve seen Jaden Ivey have some big games this season when it comes to a scoring perspective but we’ve also seen him struggle against some of the better defenses in the league. For example, in his last game, he only scored eight points which was his season low against the Houston Rockets. This Miami Heat team is very similar to the Rockets in the way they like to play defense and slow down the pace of the game. After watching that game against Houston I  can see a similar result coming to fruition for Jaden Ivey against this Heat team.
