Golden State Warriors vs Houston Rockets NBA Picks, Odds, Predictions 11/7/2021

The Golden State Warriors play host to the Houston Rockets at the Chase Center on Sunday night.

The Houston Rockets have been in terrible shape as they’ve won just one of their first nine games so far and they will be hoping to put a halt to a seven-game slide after falling just short to the Nuggets in a 95-94 road loss last night. Daniel Theis led the team in scoring with 18 points on eight of 12 shooting, Christian Wood added 12 points with 17 rebounds, Eric Gordon scored 12 points off the bench while Kenyon Martin Jr. chipped in with 11 points. As a team, the Rockets shot 46 percent from the field and eight of 28 from the 3-point line as they fought hard to lead by five points late in the fourth quarter, before missing the game-winner as the Nuggets’ Nikola Jokic blocked Jae’Sean Tate on the final play. Kevin Porter Jr. had a night to forget as he scored just six points on two of 14 shooting.

Meanwhile, the Golden State Warriors have been on a tear as they’ve won seven of their first eight games overall and they will be aiming for a fourth straight victory after making light work of the Pelicans in a 126-85 home win on Friday. Jordan Poole led the team with 26 points on 10 of 15 shooting, Gary Payton added 17 points off the bench, Stephen Curry scored 19 points with six assists while Andrew Wiggins chipped in with 16 points. As a team, the Warriors shot 52 percent from the field and 20 of 50 from the 3-point line as they set the tone with 38 points in the first quarter to take the early lead, before outscoring the struggling Pelicans by 74-35 in the second half to make it a complete blowout.

Looking at the betting trends, the Rockets are 1-4 ATS in their last five games against a team with a winning record, 8-3 ATS in their last 11 road games and 2-9 ATS in their last 11 Sunday games. The Warriors are 9-2 ATS in their last 11 home games and 6-2 ATS in their last eight games against a team with a losing record.

Head to head, the Rockets are 1-4 ATS in the last five meetings overall.

It’s no surprise that the Warriors have opened as heavy favorites here as they’ve been one of the hottest teams in the league while the Rockets have been one of the coldest. It never seems as though the Rockets have much of a chance against most teams, but to their credit, they hang around and fight till the end as they’re all playing for future roster spots that will be opening up around the trade deadline. The line seems a little hefty, but I don’t think the Rockets can stay with the Warriors on zero days’ rest.
