The Golden State Warriors play host to the New York Knicks at the Chase Center on Thursday night.
The New York Knicks have been in terrible shape as they’ve lost 10 of their past 12 games overall and they will be hoping to snap a four-game slide after getting routed by the Nuggets in a 132-115 road loss on Tuesday. Julius Randle led the team with 28 points, 10 rebounds and six assists, Evan Fournier added 21 points while RJ Barrett chipped in with 18 points. As a team, the Knicks shot 44 percent from the field and 15 of 43 from the 3-point line, but this was a game that got away early as the Knicks were never in the contest after allowing the Nuggets to explode for 83 points in the first half. Immanuel Quickley had a rough night as he scored just five points on two of nine shooting off the bench while Kemba Walker scored just two points on one of six shooting.
Meanwhile, the Golden State Warriors have been in great shape as they’ve won 10 of their past 12 games, but they will be aiming to bounce back in this one after having their nine-game win streak halted by the Jazz in a 111-85 road loss last night. Jordan Poole led the team in scoring with 18 points, Stephen Curry added 16 points while Andrew Wiggins chipped in with 13 points. As a team, the Warriors shot just 35 percent from the field and 16 of 43 from the 3-point line as they struggled against the defense of the Jazz and managed just 18 points in the second quarter to fall behind going into halftime, before getting completely blown out in the second half by 56-36 as the Jazz finished with a flurry. Damion Lee had a forgettable night as he finished scoreless on zero of seven shooting off the bench.
Looking at the betting trends, the Knicks are 0-5 ATS in their last five road games, 0-5 ATS in their last five games against a team with a winning record and 0-4 ATS in their last four games overall. The Warriors are 23-10-2 ATS in their last 35 home games and 14-37 ATS in their last 51 Thursday games.
Head to head, the Knicks are 2-5 ATS in the last seven meetings overall and the Knicks are 4-1 ATS in the last five meetings in Golden State.
The Knicks will again be without RJ Barrett, Mitchell Robinson and Derrick Rose, while Nerlens Noel and Quentin Grimes are listed as questionable. The Warriors will again be missing Andre Iguodala, James Wiseman and Draymond Green, but they should have Klay Thompson back in the lineup after he was rested last night. The Knicks have been in a world of hurt lately and they are 0-5 ATS in their last five road games, so I’m sticking with the Warriors to bounce back at home in this spot.
