The Golden State Warriors play host to the Sacramento Kings at the Chase Center on Sunday night.
The Sacramento Kings are still searching for their first win of the season and they will be hoping for a better performance after last night’s 111-108 loss to the Clippers. De’Aaron Fox led the team with 35 points on 15 of 23 shooting, Keegan Murray provided the spark off the bench with 19 points on seven of 10 shooting while Kevin Huerter chipped in with 18 points and five assists. As a team, the Kings shot 47 percent from the field and 13 of 34 from the 3-point line but they let themselves down in the third quarter where they leaked 34 points to fall behind by 12 points. Harrison Barnes had a night to forget as he scored just eight points on two of 10 shooting.
Meanwhile, the Golden State Warriors will be looking to bounce back after coming up short against the Nuggets in a 128-123 loss on Friday. Stephen Curry led the team with 34 points on 10 of 22 shooting, Andrew Wiggins added 23 points, Klay Thompson scored 16 points while Draymond Green chipped in with 13 points and nine assists. As a team, the Warriors shot 47 percent from the field and 15 of 44 from the 3-point line but their problems were on defense as they were always playing from behind after falling behind by 20 points early. Despite the big deficit, the Warriors were always a chance of coming back, but they shot themselves in the foot with 18 turnovers and they didn’t get enough help from their bench.
Looking at the betting trends, the Kings are 7-2-1 ATS in their last 10 road games, 4-0 ATS in their last four games playing on zero day’s rest and 1-4 ATS in their last five games overall. The Warriors are 7-2 ATS in their last nine home games, 4-1 ATS in their last five games against a team with a losing record and 4-1 ATS in their last five games overall.
Head to head, the under is 4-1 in the last five meetings overall, the Kings are 10-4 ATS in the last 14 meetings overall and the Kings are 9-2 ATS in the last 11 meetings in Golden State. The Kings were more than competitive in last night’s narrow loss to the Clippers, but they’re going to need to be at their best to hang with the Warriors who are fresh off a tough loss. The Kings are 9-2 ATS in the last 11 meetings in Golden State, but they are playing on zero days’ rest, so I’m leaning towards the Warriors to bounce back at home in this spot.
