The San Antonio Spurs and the Golden State Warriors duke it out at the Chase Center on Saturday night.
The San Antonio Spurs are starting to build some momentum as they are now aiming for a fourth straight victory after making light work of the shorthanded Trail Blazers in a 114-83 road win on Thursday. Bryn Forbes led the team in scoring with 18 points in just 15 minutes off the bench, Doug McDermott added 16 points, Dejounte Murray tallied 15 points with 13 assists while Derrick White chipped in with 12 points, seven rebounds and five assists. As a team, the Spurs shot 48 percent from the field and 14 of 36 from the 3-point line as they hit the ground running and poured in 68 points in the first half to take a 21-point lead into halftime, before holding the Trail Blazers to just 18 points in the fourth quarter to make it a complete blowout.
Meanwhile, the Golden State Warriors have been in red-hot form as they’ve won eight of their past nine games and they will be looking to stay hot after snapping the Suns’ 18-game win streak in a 118-96 home win last night. Stephen Curry led the team with 23 points and five assists, Andrew Wiggins added 19 points, Juan Toscano-Anderson scored 17 points on seven of eight shooting, Gary Payton scored 19 points, while Draymond Green tallied nine points with nine rebounds, nine assists, six steals and three blocks. As a team, the Warriors shot 48 percent from the field and 19 of 39 from the 3-point line as they held the Suns to just 20 points in the third quarter to take the lead, before exploding for 38 points in the fourth quarter behind the bench.
Looking at the betting trends, the Spurs are 1-4 ATS in their last five road games, 6-2-1 ATS in their last nine games against a team with a winning record and 4-1 ATS in their last five games overall. The Warriors are 5-1 ATS in their last six games playing on zero days’ rest, 6-1-1 ATS in their last eight games against a team with a losing record and 21-5-1 ATS in their last 27 games overall.
Head to head, the under is 7-3 in the last 10 meetings overall and the over is 8-3-1 in the last 12 meetings in Golden State.
The Spurs have come alive with three wins on the trot and they looked great in their big win over the Trail Blazers on Thursday, but it’s going to be tough to keep their win streak alive against the Warriors who just took down the hottest team in the league. The line is a bit hefty, but the Warriors are 5-1 ATS in their last six games playing on zero days’ rest and I think they can stay hot with another win and cover here.
