The Phoenix Suns invade the Toyota Center to battle the Houston Rockets on Wednesday night. Here’s a Suns vs Rockets Prediction.

Phoenix Suns

The Phoenix Suns have been in terrible form as they’ve lost nine of their last 12 games overall and they will be hoping to snap a three-game skid after getting run over by the Mavericks in a 128-114 loss on Christmas Day. Grayson Allen drained eight 3-pointers to lead the team with 32 points, Chimezie Metu added 23 points and 19 rebounds off the bench while Devin Booker chipped in with 20 points and 10 assists. As a team, the Suns shot 44 percent from the field and 14 of 41 from the 3-point line as they exploded for 38 points in the third quarter to erase an early 12-point deficit, only to allow 37 points in the fourth quarter. The Suns just had no answer for the Mavericks’ Luka Doncic who torched them for 50 points and 15 assists.

Houston Rockets

Meanwhile, the Houston Rockets have been in fine form as they’ve won seven of their last 11 games overall, but they will be hoping to bounce back here after falling short to the Pacers in a 123-117 loss last night. Alperen Sengun led the team with 39 points, 16 rebounds, five assists and four steals, Fred VanVleet added 18 points with nine assists while Tari Eason chipped in with 16 points off the bench. As a team, the Rockets shot 48 percent from the field and just five of 24 from the 3-point line as they worked hard to take the lead after trailing by 12 points in the third quarter, only to go scoreless in the final 1:49 to allow the Pacers to slip away in the end. The Rockets will carry on with their homestay after this game and meet the 76ers

Suns vs Rockets Prediction

The Suns are still shorthanded with Bradley Beal and Damion Lee out, while the Rockets are still missing Dillon Brooks who is out with a right abdominal strain. The Suns could really do with a win after getting embarrassed in their last outing, but they won’t get any sympathy from the Rockets who were on a roll before falling short to the Pacers last night. The Suns have the advantage of extra rest here, but they’ve just been so bad lately that I have to stick with the Rockets who represent decent value as the home underdog.

Joe Hall's Free Pick: Houston +1.5
