Toronto Raptors Betting Preview
The Toronto Raptors have been in pretty good form as they’ve won three of their first five games, but they weren’t at their best on Friday when they fell short in a 121-114 loss to the Magic. Scottie Barnes led the team with 41 points and five assists on 19 of 34 shooting, Immanuel Quickley added 17 points with eight assists while Collin Murray-Boyles chipped in with 15 points on seven of 10 shooting off the bench. As a team, the Raptors shot 51 percent from the field and 11 of 27 from the 3-point line as they fought hard to take the lead in the fourth quarter after trailing by 12 points, but they allowed the Magic to respond with a 15-5 run which was the difference in a close contest. RJ Barrett had a rough game as he shot just three of 10 from the field for his nine points and five turnovers.
Los Angeles Lakers Betting Preview
Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Lakers have been in great form themselves as they’ve won four of their first six games, but they will be hoping to bounce back here after getting humbled by the Warriors in an ugly 112-95 road defeat on Friday. Luka Doncic led the team with 37 points, seven rebounds and five assists on 12 of 27 shooting while Austin Reaves chipped in with 21 points and five assists but no other player scored more than 10 points. As a team, the Lakers shot just 40 percent from the field and 11 of 39 from the 3-point line as they got off to a flyer and exploded for 38 points in the first quarter to open up a commanding 25-point lead, but they lost the lead as fast as they built it and just couldn’t stop turning the ball over, finishing with 20 for the game thanks largely to Reaves who racked up eight turnovers of his own.

The Raptors have ruled out Kawhi Leonard once again, while the Lakers are still keeping an eye on Ziaire Williams who is dealing with a left foot injury. The Raptors would love a statement road win over the Lakers and they could certainly get it done if Barnes has another big game, but the Lakers have won the last seven meetings between these teams. I wouldn’t be surprised at all if the Raptors pulled off the upset here as they’ve enjoyed a great start to the season despite the injury to Leonard, but the Lakers got embarrassed in their last outing and I think they will make up for it with a bounce back performance in front of their home fans. Give me the Lakers to get the win and cover at the short line.
