The Los Angeles Lakers play host to the Phoenix Suns at the Staples Center on Tuesday night.

The Phoenix Suns have been in red-hot form as they’ve won 14 of their last 17 games and they will be aiming for a third straight win after dismantling the Timberwolves in a 118-99 road win on Sunday. Devin Booker led the team with 43 points on 15 of 26 shooting, DeAndre Ayton added 22 points on nine of 11 shooting while Chris Paul chipped in with 11 points and 15 assists. As a team, the Suns shot 49 percent from the field and seven of 27 from the 3-point line as they took the early lead with 30 points in the first quarter and were never threatened as they outscored the Timberwolves in every quarter to lead by as many as 24 points in a dominant win.

Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Lakers haven’t been at their best lately as they’ve lost five of their past eight games, but they will be aiming for a third straight win after making light work of the Warriors in a 117-91 home win on Sunday. LeBron James led the team with 19 points, six rebounds and four assists, Markieff Morris and Alex Caruso each scored 13 points while Dennis Schroder chipped in with 12 points and six assists. As a team, the Lakers shot 47 percent from the field and 11 of 31 from the 3-point line as they set the tone with 41 points in the first quarter, before cruising to victory after leading by 29 points going into halftime.

Looking at the betting trends, the Suns are 4-0 ATS in their last four road games, 20-6 ATS in their last 26 games against a team with a winning record and 30-11 ATS in their last 41 games overall. The Lakers are 2-5 ATS in their last seven games following a win and 2-7 ATS in their last nine games against a team above .600.

Head to head, the under is 5-1 in the last six meetings overall, the Suns are 1-4 ATS in the last five meetings in Los Angeles and the Suns are 3-9 ATS in the last 12 meetings overall.

The Suns have quietly been piling on the wins and they will be feeling good after blowing past the lowly Timberwolves in their last outing, while the Lakers look to have moved on from their mini slump as they’ve now won two in a row following their big win over the Warriors on Sunday. The Suns are 4-0 ATS in their last four road games and 20-6 ATS in their last 26 games against a team with a winning record, so I like them as the underdogs in this spot, especially with the Lakers still without Anthony Davis.
