The Los Angeles Lakers play host to the Utah Jazz once again at the Staples Center on Monday night.
The Utah Jazz have been in great form as they’ve won 13 of their past 17 games, but they will be hoping to bounce back in this one after getting upset by the Lakers in a 127-115 overtime road loss on Saturday. Jordan Clarkson led the team with 27 points, Ersan Ilyasova added 20 points on seven of 11 shooting, Joe Ingles added 20 points with 14 assists while Bojan Bogdanovic chipped in with 19 points. As a team, the Jazz shot just 41 percent from the field and 23 of 59 from the 3-point line as they rallied back from a 14-point fourth quarter deficit to force overtime where they went ice-cold and scored just five points.
Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Lakers have been in decent shape as they’ve won seven of their past 12 games and they will be looking to build some momentum after outlasting the Jazz on Saturday. The Jazz will be disappointed with their loss to the shorthanded Lakers on Saturday, but to be fair, they were severely shorthanded as they were without Derrick Favors, Ersan Ilyasova, Mike Conley and Rudy Gobert who are all expected to return for this one. The Lakers will be delighted with their big win on Saturday, but it’s going to be a real surprise if they were able to pull it off again. This one might be close for a while, but in the end, I think the Jazz get their revenge with a big win in this spot.
