The Memphis Grizzlies play host to the Brooklyn Nets at the FedExForum on Monday night.
The Brooklyn Nets have split their first two games of the season and they will be aiming to build some momentum after sneaking past the Raptors in a 109-105 home win on Friday. Kyrie Irving led the team with 30 points and seven assists, Kevin Durant added 27 points with six assists while Nic Claxton chipped in with 19 points, 11 rebounds and four blocks. As a team, the Nets shot 47 percent from the field and 13 of 35 from the 3-point line as they rallied back from a 10-point third quarter deficit to escape with the narrow win after struggling for most of the game.
Meanwhile, the Memphis Grizzlies will be looking to bounce back in this spot after having their two-game win streak halted by the Mavericks in a 137-96 road loss on Saturday. Ja Morant led the team in scoring with 20 points and four assists, Desmond Bane added 14 points while Tyus Jones chipped in with 10 points off the bench. As a team, the Grizzlies shot just 43 percent from the field and nine of 33 from the 3-point line as they got off to a horror start and were always trailing after getting outscored by 39-17 in the first quarter alone.
Looking at the betting trends, the Nets are 10-4-1 ATS in their last 15 road games, 1-4 ATS in their last five games against a team with a winning record and 1-4 ATS in their last five games overall. The Grizzlies are 21-7 ATS in their last 28 home games, 38-13 ATS in their last 51 games following a loss of more than 10 points and 0-4 ATS in their last four games overall.
Head to head, the over is 9-4 in the last 13 meetings overall, the Nets are 0-6 ATS in the last six meetings overall and the Nets are 9-4 ATS in the last 13 meetings in Memphis.
The Nets have yet to hit their stride, but they’re starting to build some momentum now that they’ve won two in a row, while the Grizzlies looked to be red-hot before getting humbled by the Mavericks on Saturday. The Grizzlies are still a little banged up, but the Nets are 0-6 ATS in the last six meetings overall, so I’m backing the Grizzlies to bounce back with a win at home in this spot.
