The Minnesota Timberwolves have been in great form as they’ve won eight of their last nine games overall and they will be gunning for a sixth straight victory after taking down the Spurs in a 102-94 win on Wednesday. Mike Conley led the team with 18 points, Anthony Edwards added 17 points with six assists, Rudy Gobert tallied 16 points with 20 rebounds and two blocks while Karl-Anthony Towns chipped in with 14 points and 10 rebounds. As a team, the Timberwolves shot just 41 percent from the field and 12 of 40 from the 3-point line as they found themselves in a bit of trouble as they trailed going into halftime, before they clicked into gear and dominated the second half by 56-41 to escape with the narrow win in the end.

Meanwhile, the Memphis Grizzlies are starting to find their feet now as they’ve reeled off three wins in their past four outings and they will be eager to keep it going after routing the Pistons in a 116-102 road win on Wednesday. Desmond Bane led the team with 49 points, six rebounds and eight assists on 19 of 31 shooting, Jaren Jackson Jr. added 24 points while Jaylen Nowell chipped in with 12 points off the bench. As a team, the Grizzlies shot 51 percent from the field and 11 of 26 from the 3-point line as they trailed the Pistons for most of the contest, before they rallied with a 34-18 fourth quarter push to make it look easy in the end.

The Timberwolves are keeping an eye on Jordan McLaughlin who is questionable for this one, while the Grizzlies are still missing Marcus Smart, Brandon Clarke and Luke Kennard. The Timberwolves have been able to quietly climb to the top of the league standings and they would love to keep it going, but they could find themselves in trouble if they look past these Grizzlies who are starting to find some form now. I like the Timberwolves to stay hot with another win here, but I think we’re getting just enough points to take the Grizzlies at home.
