The Houston Rockets and the Miami Heat duke it out at the FTX Arena on Friday night.

The Houston Rockets have been in poor form as they’ve lost six of their last eight games overall and they will be hoping to arrest a four-game slide after falling painfully short to the Kings in a 130-128 loss on Wednesday. Jalen Green led the team with 41 points on 14 of 22 shooting, Alperen Sengun added 18 points with nine rebounds and 11 assists while Kenyon Martin Jr. tallied 15 points with five rebounds and two blocks. As a team, the Rockets shot 54 percent from the field and 10 of 22 from the 3-point line as they stormed out of the gates with 37 points in the first quarter to take the early lead and they were able to stay in the contest right till the final second, until the Kings’ De’Aaron Fox drew a foul on the final shot to steal the game from the Rockets with just 0.1 seconds left on the clock.

Meanwhile, the Miami Heat have been in great shape as they’ve won nine of their last 14 games overall and they will be looking to maintain that momentum after sneaking past the slumping Pacers in a 116-111 home win on Wednesday. Bam Adebayo led the team with 38 points, nine rebounds and three assists on 12 of 16 shooting, Jimmy Butler added 25 points with seven assists while Gabe Vincent and Tyler Herro scored 17 and 15 points respectively. As a team, the Heat shot 46 percent from the field and six of 19 from the 3-point line as they squandered an early 16-point lead to fall behind by nine points, but they regrouped and went on a pivotal 6-0 run midway through the fourth quarter to escape with the narrow win in the end.

Looking at the betting trends, the Rockets are 3-13 ATS in their last 16 road games, 2-7 ATS in their last nine games against a team with a winning record and 6-16 ATS in their last 22 games overall. The Heat are 7-18-1 ATS in their last 26 games against a team with a losing record, 9-20-1 ATS in their last 30 home games and 1-5 ATS in their last six games overall.

Head to head, the under is 6-2 in the last eight meetings in Miami, the Rockets are 0-4 ATS in the last four meetings in Miami and the Rockets are 0-4-1 ATS in the last five meetings overall.

The Rockets are shorthanded again as Kevin Porter Jr. is still out as well as the recently acquired John Wall, while the Heat have ruled out Victor Oladipo, Kyle Lowry and Duncan Robinson again. The Rockets have been in poor form all season, but they should definitely consider themselves unlucky with the way they lost to the Kings on Wednesday, but they won’t get any sympathy from the Heat who have kept their standards high all season despite the growing injury list. The Rockets are 3-13 ATS in their last 16 road games and they are 0-4 ATS in the last four meetings in Miami, so I’ll back the Heat in this spot.
