Karl-Anthony Towns led the team with 24 points, seven rebounds and five assists, Troy Brown Jr added 20 points off the bench, Mike Conley added 19 points with seven assists while Rudy Gobert tallied 16 points with 20 rebounds and six blocks. As a team, the Timberwolves shot 50 percent from the field and 15 of 38 from the 3-point line as they traded with the Grizzlies in a tightly contested first half, before they went on a decisive 19-4 run in the third quarter to pull away and make it look easy in the end.

Meanwhile, the New Orleans Pelicans have been in decent shape with six wins in their last 10 games overall, but they might still be nursing their wounds after getting thrashed by the Lakers in a 133-89 road loss on Thursday. Trey Murphy led the team in scoring with just 4 points off the bench, Zion Williamson added 13 points while Herbert Jones scored 10 points but no other player finished in double figures in scoring. As a team, the Pelicans shot a miserly 35 percent from the field and seven of 31 from the 3-point line, but their defense was even worse as they leaked 38 points in the second quarter and another 43 points in the third quarter to suffer their biggest loss of the season.

The Pelicans were playing some decent basketball before they got destroyed by the Lakers on Thursday, but the Timberwolves have been the hottest team in the league and they just made light work of the Grizzlies in their last outing. The Timberwolves could be missing some key players once again, but it didn’t slow them down in their last game and I don’t think it will hurt them here. The Pelicans open as favorites in this one, but I like the Timberwolves to maintain their momentum with another win here.
