The Lakers and the points are intriguing under normal circumstances, but this line tells me they’ll be without Luka, who is dealing with a back issue. If that’s the case, I want the Pistons and the reasonable number. Doncic has been on a heater, but if he’s not going to play, it makes life much easier for a scrappy Pistons defense.
Also, the Pistons are 6-2 ATS on the season and 7-3 ATS in their last 10 games. You should probably be betting on the Pistons anyway. Of course, check the injury report before locking in anything, as the status of Luka will determine where this line ends up. At the time of this writing, I’m assuming he won’t play. If that’s the case, I’ll be on the Pistons.
If Luka doesn’t play, the Lakers fall into the hands of Reaves. He’s been solid this season, but the scoring depth falls off a cliff after him. Kessler isn’t 100 percent right now, and the next available guard for the Lakers is Collin Sexton. The Pistons will have a field day if that’s the case. Doncic’s offensive explosions are the reason the Lakers are where they are right now. Remove him and the Lakers aren’t as attractive.
