The Phoenix Suns and the Sacramento Kings duke it out at the Golden 1 Center on Sunday night.
The Phoenix Suns have been in red-hot form as they’ve won eight of their last 10 games overall and they will be looking to build on their current four-game win streak after making light work of the Bulls in a 129-102 home win on Friday. Devin Booker led the team with 28 points on 10 of 18 shooting, DeAndre Ayton added 20 points with 12 rebounds on eight of 11 shooting while Cameron Payne tallied 15 points with seven assists. As a team, the Suns shot a healthy 56 percent from the field and 11 of 25 from the 3-point line as they controlled this one right from the start, holding the Bulls to 21 points in the second quarter to take a 13-point lead into halftime, before running riot in the second half where the lead ballooned to 33 points at one stage.
Meanwhile, the Sacramento Kings have been in a real funk as they’ve lost six of their last seven games overall and they will be hoping to arrest a two-game skid after getting thrashed by the Celtics in a 126-97 loss on Friday. Domantas Sabonis led the team with 30 points, 20 rebounds and five assists, Justin Holiday added 21 points while Trey Lyles chipped in with 19 points, six rebounds and four assists. As a team, the Kings shot just 41 percent from the field and 13 of 36 from the 3-point line as they got off to a slow start and fell behind by 19 points at halftime and things only got worse in the fourth quarter where the Celtics finished with a flurry to make it a complete blowout.
Looking at the betting trends, the Suns are 9-4 ATS in their last 13 games against a team below .400, 11-4 ATS in their last 15 road games and 4-0 ATS in their last four games overall. The Kings are 7-2 ATS in their last nine games as a home underdog, 4-0-1 ATS in their last five games against a team with a winning record and 4-1-1 ATS in their last six games overall.
Head to head, the under is 5-2 in the last seven meetings in Sacramento and the under is 5-1 in the last six meetings overall.
The Suns are still without Chris Paul and Cameron Johnson, while Jae Crowder is listed as questionable for this one and the Kings could be without De’Aaron Fox who is questionable for this one. It’s tempting to take the Kings with the hefty start at home, but they got completely destroyed by the Celtics in their last outing and I think we’re going to see a similar result against the visiting Suns who have been on fire lately.
