The Portland Trailblazers and the Sacramento Kings collide at the Golden 1 Center on Wednesday night.
The Portland Trailblazers have been at their best so far, but they’re starting to heat up as they will be aiming for a fourth straight win after outlasting the Raptors in a 112-111 home win on Monday. CJ McCollum led the team with 30 points and five assists, Damian Lillard added 23 points with five assists, Carmelo Anthony scored 20 points off the bench while Enes Kanter chipped in with 14 points on seven of eight shooting. As a team, the Trailblazers shot 45 percent from the field and 14 of 42 from the 3-point line as they rallied back from a 17-point deficit, only to win the game in the final second as the Raptors’ Pascal Siakam missed on a 3-foot jumper. Lillard went down with an ankle injury, but he is currently listed as probable for Wednesday.
Meanwhile, the Sacramento Kings have been struggling a bit lately as they’ve lost five of their last seven games, but they will be looking to build some momentum in this one after outlasting the Pacers in a 127-122 home win on Monday. Harrison Barnes led the team with 30 points on 10 of 14 shooting, De’Aaron Fox added 21 points with nine assists, Buddy Hield scored 18 points, while Richaun Holmes chipped in with 16 points, 10 rebounds and six blocks. As a team, the Kings shot a healthy 56 percent from the field and 15 of 32 from the 3-point line as they rode the hot hand of Hield down the stretch to escape with the much-needed win.
Looking at the betting trends, the Trailblazers are 17-7 ATS in their last 24 Wednesday games and 8-2-1 ATS in their last 11 road games against a team with a winning home record. The Kings are 12-5-1 ATS in their last 18 games as an underdog and 1-5 ATS in their last six games overall.
Head to head, the under is 35-17 in the last 52 meetings overall and the Trailblazers are 7-3-1 ATS in the last 11 meetings overall.
The Trailblazers are finally working themselves into a groove with three wins on the trot and they should be at full strength if Lillard is able to overcome that ankle injury. The Kings came to life with a nice upset win over the shorthanded Pacers which would’ve gave them plenty of confidence, but they’re now up against the Trailblazers who are 7-3-1 ATS in the last 11 meetings overall. The Trailblazers are 8-2-1 ATS in their last 11 road games and I think that trend continues as they get the win here.
