The San Antonio Spurs play host to the Houston Rockets at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex on Tuesday afternoon.

The Houston Rockets have won four of their five games in the bubble and they will be looking for a third straight victory after blowing past the Kings in a 129-112 win on Sunday. James Harden steered the offense with 32 points, eight rebounds and seven assists, Austin Rivers drained six 3-pointers to lead the team in scoring with 41 points off the bench, Ben McLemore scored 20 points while Robert Covington chipped in with 12 points, 13 rebounds and three steals. As a team, the Rockets shot 47 percent from the field as they fell into an early 13-point deficit, only to take over in the second and third quarters where they outscored the Kings by a combined 70-35.

Meanwhile, the San Antonio Spurs have won four of their six games in the bubble and they will be gunning for a third straight victory after taking down the Pelicans in a 122-113 win on Sunday. DeMar DeRozan led the way with 27 points on 10 of 16 shooting, Rudy Gay added 19 points off the bench, Dejounte Murray scored 18 points while Derrick White chipped in with 16 points. As a team, the Spurs shot 44 percent from the field and 11 of 28 from the 3-point line as they set the tone by holding the Pelicans to just 19 points in the first quarter, before pouring in 35 points in the second quarter to take a commanding 17-point lead going into halftime.

Head to head, the over is 9-4-1 in the last 14 meetings in San Antonio and the under is 7-2 in the last nine meetings overall.

The Rockets will be shorthanded for this one as they are already without Russell Westbrook, Eric Gordon is still out with that ankle sprain while James Harden is being rested.  The Spurs didn’t get through their last game unscathed as White is currently listed as questionable for Tuesday. The Rockets have a bunch of role players in hot form, but they’re just thinking about player preservation with the playoffs just around the corner, while the Spurs need to win this game to keep their season alive. This should be close game as the Rockets still have more than enough talent to get the job done, but I’m sticking with the more desperate Spurs team with the points here.
