Toronto Raptors vs Detroit Pistons NBA Picks, Odds, Predictions 3/3/21

The Detroit Pistons travel to the Amalie Arena to do battle with the Toronto Raptors on Wednesday night.

The Detroit Pistons have been in a slump lately as they’ve lost six of their last seven games and they will be hoping to snap a three-game skid after getting routed by the Knicks in a 109-90 home loss on Sunday. Jerami Grant led the team in scoring with 21 points and eight rebounds, Wayne Ellington added 15 points off the bench while Josh Jackson chipped in with 12 points on one of six shooting off the bench. As a team, the Pistons shot just 38 percent from the field and nine of 32 from the 3-point line as they fell behind by double-digits after scoring just 37 points in the first half, before getting blown out in the third quarter where they fell behind by as many as 24 points.

Meanwhile, the Toronto Raptors have been in decent form as they’ve won five of their past seven games and because their last two games were postponed, they haven’t played since their 122-111 win over the Rockets on Friday. Norman Powell led the team with 30 points on 10 of 15 shooting, Fred VanVleet added 25 points on six of 23 shooting while Kyle Lowry compiled a triple-double of 20 points with 11 rebounds and 10 assists. As a team, the Raptors shot 44 percent from the field and 16 of 41 from the 3-point line as they took control with 37 points in the second quarter, before holding the Rockets to just 21 points in the third quarter to put the game to bed early.

Looking at the betting trends, the Hawks are 10-4 ATS in their last 14 games playing on two days’ rest, 2-5 ATS in their last seven games as an underdog and 2-5 ATS in their last seven games overall. The Raptors are 6-14 ATS in their last 20 home games, 1-4 ATS in their last five games playing on two days’ rest and 5-2 ATS in their last seven games overall.

Head to head, the over is 19-7-1 in the last 27 meetings in Toronto.

The Pistons must be low on confidence as they’ve been in a slump and are coming into this one fresh off a beating at the hands of the Knicks, while the Raptors have been in good form lately despite having a couple of games postponed. The Raptors are going to be shorthanded in this one as Pascal Siakam, OG Anunoby, Patrick McCaw and Fred VanVleet have all been ruled out for this one, while the Pistons could be without their leading scorer in Jerami Grant who is listed as questionable for this one. With that being said, the Raptors are a well-coached team and I still think they have enough to get past the Pistons here.
