The Denver Broncos and the Kansas City Chiefs face off on Sunday Night in Denver for an a AFC West battle on Sunday Night NFL Football.
The Denver Broncos have been machine like and despite having one loss and residing in second place in the AFC West they are one of the favorites to win the Super Bowl at this point of the season. The Broncos offense has been prolific averaging 41.2 points and 458.7 yards per game though they have a minus two turnover ratio. Peyton manning has been off the charts completing 71 percent of his passes for 3,249 yards with 33 touchdown passes and six interceptions and he has been sacked just 13 times. It has been somewhat of a committee in the Broncos backfield with Knowshon Moreno averaging 4.2 yards per carry with eight touchdowns leading the way. Demaryius Thomas has 55 receptions and nine touchdowns, Wes Welker has 53 catches and nine touchdowns, and Julius Thomas has 42 catches and nine touchdowns. The Broncos defense allows 26.4 points and 374.9 yards per game. Danny Trevathan has 70 tackles, Shaun Phillips has 7.5 sacks, and Chris Harris has 45 tackles and three interceptions. With a win in this game the Broncos would be in first place in the AFC West.

The Kansas City Chiefs have gone from the worst record in the NFL and drafting first in the NFL Draft to being the last undefeated team in the NFL this season. The Chiefs offense has done what it takes while averaging just 23.9 points and 317.3 yards per game and they are plus 15 in turnover ratio. Alex Smith hasn’t been spectacular but he has done what he needs to do completing 59.7 percent of his passes with nine touchdowns and four interceptions while being sacked 26 times. Jamaal Charles has rushed for 725 yards and six touchdowns and he has 47 receptions out of the backfield. Dwayne Bowe has 33 receptions but is in the doghouse after being arrested this week for possession of marijuana and Donnie Avery has 27 catches. Defensively the Chiefs allow a NFL best 12.3 points and 326.9 yards per game. Derrick Johnson has 68 tackles, Justin Houston has 11 sacks, and Tamba Hali has 9 sacks. The Chiefs have turned it around by turning around the turnover ratio.
Denver is 9-4 -1 against the spread in their last 14 games, 3-1-1 against the spread in their last five home games, and 2-6 against the spread against a team with a winning record. Kansas City is 4-0 against the spread in their last four road games, 5-2 against the spread in their last seven games, and 2-5 against the spread against the AFC West. The underdog has covered the point spread in six of the last seven meetings of these two teams.
The total is set at 50 and the way Broncos games have gone this season that looks to be low but I see this one having a playoff atmosphere and the defenses coming up big so my pick here is the under. As is the usual for Sunday Night games I will have a pick on the winning team against the spread in the Premium Area as well as on the Sports Chat Place App.
