The Chicago Bears and the Atlanta Falcons face off on Saturday at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta in a Week 3 NFL showdown.

The Chicago Bears haven’t been all that impressive in the first two games of the season but they were able to come away with wins in each of those games, and that is the only thing that really matters. The Bears opened up the season with a three point victory over the Detroit Lions, and in the second game they beat the New York GIants 17-13. Quarterback Mitchell Trubisky had to earn the starting job and each of the first two games he has looked good at times, and other times he has looked really bad. In the last game, Trubisky threw for 190 yards, two touchdowns, and two interceptions. On defense the Bears are a little banged up but it looks like Robert Quinn and Khalil Mack will both be available for this game which is huge for the teams chances at a victory.

On the other side of this matchup is the Atlanta Falcons who come into this game with an 0-2 record and it’s been because their defense hasn’t been able to slow down anyone. In the last game against the Dallas Cowboys, the Falcons scored 39 points but a late collapse and they have up 40 points and that led to the loss. In the last game Matt Ryan had a big game thiteming for 273 yards and four touchdowns. In this game, it’s going to come down to the defense to find a way to step up. Cornerback AJ Terrell did test positive for COVID so he won’t be with the team for this game. Julio Jones is also questionable for this game.

The under is 7-2 in the Bears last nine games as an underdog. The Bears 2-6 against the spread in their last eight against the NFC. The under is 9-4 in the Falcons last 13 home games. The under is 8-1 in the last nine meetings between the Falcons and Bears. The Bears are 7-2 against the spread in the last nine meetings against the Falcons.

The Falcons have a good offense and don’t play very much defense. Something that will ring true in this game. Look for both teams to run up the score and for this game to go well over the total.
