The Miami Dolphins and San Francisco 49ers face off in Week 5 NFL Showdown at Levi’s Stadium.
The Miami Dolphins have won only one game this season against the Jacksonville Jaguars and in this game they are going to need to play a near perfect game. In the last against the Seattle Seahawks, the Dolphins were competitive, but they couldn’t make the plays late and that led to a 31-23 defeat. Under center this season for the Dolphins is Ryan Fitzpatrick who has his short comings but it’s clear his teammates love playing with him. Fitzpatrick has thrown for 994 yards, four touchdowns, and five interceptions this season. Wide receiver DeVante Parker is dealing with an ankle injury, but he is probable for this game.
On the other side of this matchup is the San Francisco 49ers who come into this game with a 2-2 record but they have dealt with a lot of injuries and they still have to feel like they are in a good spot. The biggest addition this week for the 49ers will be quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo who has missed the last few weeks with an ankle injury, Even with Garoppolo coming back, Deebo Samuel, Dante Pettis, and Raheem Mostert are still questionable for this game along with others. The 49ers are the better team but they can’t take this game for granted.
The under is 10-3-1 in the Dolphins last 14 games played in Week 5. The Dolphins are 11-5 against the spread in their last 16 games overall. The under is 6-2 in the 49ers last eight games in October. The 49ers are 2-5-1 against the spread in their last eight games against a team with a losing record. The 49ers are 6-14 against the spread in their last 20 games played in October.
The Dolphins are a gritty team and that is going to be the case again in this one. Look for the 49ers to be a little rusty with Garoppolo under center and the Dolphins will keep it close. Back the Dolphins against the spread and I am also putting a few dollars on the money line.
