NFL Picks: Las Vegas Raiders at Kansas City Chiefs Odds, Predictions 10/11/20

The Las Vegas Raiders and the Kansas City Chiefs meet Sunday in Week 5 NFL action from Aritemhead Stadium.
The Raiders enter this matchup at 2-2 on the 2020 NFL season. Las Vegas opened up with wins over the Panthers and Saints, but has since fallen to the Patriots and Bills. As for the Chiefs, they’re riding high at 4-0 so far. Kansas City has taken out the Texans, Chargers, Ravens and Patriots in their first four games. The Raiders came out of the gate with two strong performances, posting 34 points versus both the Panthers and the Saints. Las Vegas’ production has stalled over their last pair however, as they put up just 20 points versus New England and 23 versus the Bills. The Raiders have allowed at least 30 points in three of four games so far as well.
In the Week 4 loss to the Bills, Las Vegas’ Derek Carr managed 311 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions. Joshua Jacobs was the Raiders’ lead rusher in that one with 48 yards on 15 carries, and Darren Waller had 88 yards on nine receptions.
Over on the Chiefs’ side, they’ve had a couple scares here and there but overall have done well in their first four games. Kansas City had a close OT win over the Chargers a few weeks back, but since have dispatched the Ravens by 14 and the Patriots by 16.
In the win over New England, Kansas City QB Patrick Mahomes put up 236 yards with two touchdowns, and Clyde Edwards-Helaire added 64 rushing yards on 16 carries. Travis Kelce was the leading receiver in that game for the Chiefs with three grabs for 70 yards.
The Raiders are 7-15-1 ATS in their last 23 road games and 2-5 ATS in their last seven games overall. Las Vegas is 2-7 ATS in their last nine versus the AFC and 1-4 ATS in their last five games in Week 5.
Meanwhile, the Chiefs are 8-0-1 ATS in the last nine home games and 9-1-1 ATS in their last 11 games as a favorite. Kansas City is 21-8-1 ATS in their last 30 versus the AFC West and 35-16-2 ATS in their last 53 games on grass.
PICK: I’m going to stick with Kansas City in this one. The defending champions have shown little hangover this season, and may even be a more complete team than last year. The Chiefs have been scoring well, and they’re consistent on both sides of the ball. As for the Raiders, I expect them to be able to hang in here for a while, but they’re not quite on the Chiefs’ level just yet and I don’t think Vegas will keep up.
