The Los Angeles Rams and New York Giants meet Thursday afternoon in a Madden20 NFL simulation game.

The Los Angeles Rams may not have accomplished much last season, but they have eight players who are ranked at least 85 overall in Madden20. Defensive tackle Aaron Donald is one of the best players in the game with a 99 overall rating and a 99 strength rating. Cornerback Jalen Ramsey is a 94 overall and 93 acceleration rating, while left tackle Andrew Whitworth is 88 overall and has a 90 awareness rating. Running back Todd Gurley has a 86 overall rating and a 91 speed rating and quarterback Jared Goff is rated 77 overall with an 86 acceleration rating. The Los Angeles Rams has one of the better wide receiver trios in this game and have a defense filled with game changers. You can win a lot in this game playing with the Los Angeles Rams.

The New York Giants are heavy offensive team with their top-five ranked players being on that side of the ball starting with running back Saquon Barkley who is a 89 overall with a 92 speed rating. Tight end Evan Engram is an 88 overall with an 88 awareness rating, while wide receiver Golden Tate is an 83 overall rating and 96 agility rating. The concern with the Giants is quarterback Daniel Jones brings in a 70 overall rating with a 72 awareness rating and 84 speed rating. Defensively, defensive end Leonard Williams is the highest rated player at 82 overall and defensive tackle Dalvin Tomlinson is 80 overall with an 88 strength rating. The New York Giants are light on game changing talent, but you can win with this team if you know how to control the offensive line and mix up a power running game.

The Los Angeles Rams are clearly the better team here, but they’re also a team that’s been bigger favorites against better teams, so finding a feel for them in these simulations has been tough. The New York Giants don’t have a lot going for them in the video game world, but they can be decent at times defensively and they have a physical running game that can milk the clock and lead to a tight game in the fourth quarter.

Don’t love this matchup or the line, but I’ll take a shot with the Giants and the free touchdown.
