The Los Angeles Chargers and the Denver Broncos meet in week 18 NFL action from Empower Field at Mile High on Sunday

The Los Angeles Chargers will try to build on their four-game win streak after a 31-10 win over the Los Angeles Rams in their last game. Justin Herbert has thrown for 4,466 yards, 23 touchdowns and 10 interceptions on 68.3% passing while Austin Ekeler has rushed for a team-high 881 yards and Mike Williams has a team-high 863 receiving yards and Joshua Palmer has 730 receiving yards. Austin Ekeler has 686 receiving yards and Keenan Allen has 650 receiving yards as well on the year. On defense, Drue Tranquill leads the Chargers with 138 total tackles while the Chargers’ unit as a whole has 38 sacks and 13 interceptions this season.

The Denver Broncos will look to bounce back from back-to-back losses after a 27-24 loss to Kansas City last time out. Russell Wilson’s thrown for 3,241 yards, 13 touchdowns and 10 interceptions on 60.8% passing while Latavius Murray has 600 rushing yards and 4 touchdowns. Jerry Jeudy leads Denver’s receiving group with 62 grabs for 818 receiving yards and 6 TDs while Courtland Sutton has 796 receiving yards this season. On defense, Denver’s group has combined for 35 sacks and 15 interceptions while Alex Singleton has a team-high 152 total tackles including a team-high 93 solo tackles so far this season.

Los Angeles is 3-0-1 ATS in their last 4 games overall and 6-2 ATS in their last 8 road games while the over is 10-3 in their last 13 games as a favorite. Denver is 5-2 ATS in their last 7 games against a team with a winning record and 2-8 ATS in their last 10 games following an ATS win while the under is 5-2 in their last 7 games as an underdog.

I get the case to be made for an underdog at home, but the problem for me in this game is that the Denver Broncos have been so bad for much of the season that they just look like they’re ready for the season to be over. Los Angeles on the other hand, has a playoff spot clinched, but a win here gives them a date with Jacksonville as opposed to Buffalo, Cincinnati or Baltimore in January. I’ll back the Chargers for the big road win and cover here.
