The Seattle Seahawks and the Atlanta Falcons will meet Sunday in NFL action from Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Here’s an Atlanta Falcons vs Seattle Seahawks prediction. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best Falcons vs Seahawks pick.

Seattle Seahawks Betting Preview

Seattle got off to a good start this year. The Seahawks beat the Broncos 26-20 in their opener, followed by wins over the Patriots 23-20 and the Dolphins 24-3. The next two games were both losses, however, as Seattle fell to the Detroit Lions 42-29 and the Giants 29-20.

The Seahawks’ losing streak continued last Thursday versus the 49ers. Seattle gave up 13 points in the fourth quarter on the way to a 36-24 result. QB Geno Smith finished with 312 yards, one TD, and two picks. Tyler Lockett was the leading receiver on four catches for 65 yards and a score.

Atlanta Falcons Betting Preview

Over on the Falcons’ side, they lost to the Steelers 18-10 in their opener this year but then beat the Eagles 22-21 in game two before another loss 22-17 to the Kansas City Chiefs. Atlanta won their next pair over the Saints 26-24 and the Buccaneers 36-30 (OT).

In game six versus the Panthers, the Falcons went into the break with a five-point lead and eventually won 38-20 after 16 second-half points. QB Kirk Cousins logged 225 yards and a score. Tyler Allgeier (105 yards; TD) and Bijan Robinson (95 yards; two TDs) did most of the work on the ground, though.

Atlanta Falcons vs Seattle Seahawks Prediction

I’ll lean toward Atlanta. The Falcons were off and running versus Carolina back on Sunday, notching 198 rush yards (423 total) with 25 first downs and a nice 6-of-12 on third-down tries. On defense, Atlanta bagged a couple of interceptions and overall the team benefitted from 10 Panthers penalties. Atlanta has 74 combined points over the last two games.

As for Seattle, they didn’t post a great effort in their last outing versus the 49ers despite 306 passing yards and a reasonable 9-of-19 on third- and fourth-down tries. The nine penalties, three turnovers, and 483 yards allowed really killed any momentum otherwise. Seattle has hit 20 points or more in every game so far this year but they’re going to need a better defensive effort and far fewer mistakes in order to compete this weekend.
