In this article, we will formulate a Green Bay Packers vs Minnesota Vikings Prediction for this NFL Week 4 game on Sunday, September 29th, at Lambeau Field.

Sam Darnold, the Savior for the Vikings

Coming into this season there weren’t many expectations for the Minnesota Vikings, but now after three weeks, there is talk about them being one of the better teams in the NFL. The Vikings currently sit with a 3-0 record, but they just haven’t been against mediocre teams. Two games ago against the San Francisco 49ers they were able to beat the San Francisco 49ers 23-17 and in the last game against the Houston Texans they were able to secure the 34-7 victory.

Sam Darnold did exactly what he needed to do again and completed 17 of his 28 passes for 181 yards, four touchdowns, and zero interceptions. Aaron Jones also had a huge game on the ground finishing with 19 carries for 102 yards. On defense, Jonathan Greenard had a huge game and finished with three sacks.

On the season the Vikings are averaging 28.3 points while their defense is giving up 10 points per game. The offense is ranked 3rd in the league while the defense is ranked 2nd. The Vikings need to be the team to get out to a fast start here. The defense led by Brian Flores has confused opposing offenses, and they need to make life tough on the Packers.

Why the Vikings Will beat the Packers

  • The Vikings have won each of their last two games as underdogs.
  • The Packers have lost five of their last seven games as home favorites against opponents on a winning streak.
  • The Vikings have covered the spread in seven of their last eight games following a win.
  • The Packers have lost the first quarter in three of their last four September games as favorites against NFC opponents.
  • The Packers have lost the first half in three of their last four September home games against NFC opponents.

Who is Starting for the Packers?

The big question for the Packers heading into this game is who is going to start under center. Jordan Love is still dealing with the MCL injury, Malik Willis has led them to two straight victories. In the last game against the Tennessee Titans, the Packers offense scored 30 points and they ended up winning by 16 points. Malik Willis completed 13 of his 19 passes for 202 yards, one touchdown, and zero interceptions. Willis also finished with six carries for 73 yards and a touchdown.

Josh Jacobs finished with 14 carries for 43 yards. Emanuel Wilson finished with 12 carries for 52 yards. The Packers on the season are averaging 25 points while their defense is giving up 19.3 points per game. The offense is ranked 7th in the league while the defense is ranked 12th.

Green Bay Packers vs Minnesota Vikings Prediction

I am not too concerned about who starts at quarterback for the Packers, it’s going to be the Vikings that come out on top. Brian Flores is going to have the Packers offense confused the entire game and that will be the difference here. Look for another big game from Darnold against the Packers’ defense and Aaron Jones is going to have a huge game in his return to Lambeau Field. Back the Vikings as underdogs to win this game outright.
