Seattle Seahawks Betting Preview

The Seahawks are 2-0 in preseason action after a win over the Cowboys. The Seahawks were winless in last year’s preseason, and now they have a chance to go undefeated this year. The Seahawks haven’t swept the preseason since 2017. In the Seahawk’s most recent effort, Drew Lock threw for 119 yards on 6 passes, while Holton Ahlers had 61 passing yards on 13 passes. SaRodorick Thompson Jr. led the Seahawks with 50 rushing yards and 1 touchdown, while Jaxon Smith-Njigba and Jake Bobo combined for 101 receiving yards on 5 catches. Defensively, Tyreke Smith led the Seahawks with 8 tackles, Jarran Reed had 1 sack and Tre Brown had 1 interception. The Seahawks defense has allowed just 27 points through 2 games and has held teams to 10-27 on third down. That’s encouraging news for Seattle, especially with cornerback Devon Witherspoon soon returning to the field. 

Green Bay Packers Betting Preview

The Packers drop to 1-1 in preseason action after a loss to the Patriots. The Packers are now 2-6 SU in their last 8 preseason games. This will be the Packer’s last home game in a month, as they don’t return until week 3 of the regular season. In the Packer’s most recent effort, Sean Clifford threw for 137 yards on 19 passes, while Jordan Love had 84 passing yards and 1 touchdown. Emanuel Wilson led the Packers with 63 rushing yards on 15 carries, while Malik Heath and Romeo Doubs combined for 127 receiving yards on 7 catches. Defensively, Jimmy Phillips Jr. led the Packers with 6 tackles, Kingsley Enagbare had 2 sacks and Carrington Valentine had 2 pass deflections. The Packers have obvious areas they need to improve if they’re going to make the playoffs this season. However, Love has a touchdown pass in both preseason efforts and that’s a positive sign given there’s a lot on his shoulders as the replacement of Aaron Rodgers.

The Seahawks are not only undefeated through 2 preseason games, but their defense has been highly impressive. With guys fighting for jobs still, I don’t expect that intensity to drop off much. The Packers aren’t going to play any starters in this spot, and there’s a good chance we don’t see Love either. This line is only what it is because the game is at Lambeau Field, but it’s closer to a pick em due to the backups logging heavy minutes. I’ll take my chances with the Seahawks and the free field goal.
