The Houston Texans and Washington Commanders meet Sunday in week 11 NFL action from NRG Stadium. The Commanders are coming off a Monday night game versus Philadelphia. In that one Washington pulled off an upset win. As for Houston, they’re sitting at 1-7-1 overall and lost to the Giants in their last game. Washington opened up the year with a 1-4 run, falling to the Lions, Eagles, Cowboys and Titans in that stretch. After consecutive wins over the Bears, Packers and Colts, Washington fell to the Vikings to kick off November.

In Monday’s matchup versus the Eagles, Washington was down 14-7 early but quickly recovered and went into halftime up 20-14. The Commanders kept it going in the second half for a 32-21 win. Taylor Heinicke threw for 211 yards, and Brian Robinson rushed 26 times for 86 yards and a score.

Over on the Houston side, they notched a tie with the Colts in their opener then lost to the Broncos, Bears and Chargers. Following a win over the Jaguars, Houston then fell to the Raiders, Titans, Eagles and Giants in succession.

In the Giants matchup back on Sunday, the Texans were down 21-10 going into the final quarter. Houston couldn’t catch up and lost 24-16. QB Davis Mills finished with 319 yards, one TD and one pick. Dameon Pierce led the rush on 94 yards from 17 carries.

Washington is 4-1-1 ATS versus a team with a losing record and 4-9-1 ATS in their last 14 after an ATS loss. The Commanders are 5-1 ATS in their last six in Week 11.

Meanwhile, the Texans are 4-1 ATS in their last five after an ATS loss and 2-6 ATS versus a team with a losing record. The under is 4-1 in Houston’s last five in November.

PICK: I’m going to stay with Washington. The Commanders played a nice all-around game in the upset over Philadelphia Monday, notching 25 first downs and 152 rush yards. Washington did a great job keeping the Eagles off the field (19:36 in time of possession) and came up with four turnovers in a very solid defensive effort.

As for Houston, they’re in the middle of another lost season and can’t really find much to build on. The Texans went just 3-of-10 on third downs versus the Giants in their last game, coughing up two turnovers and committing seven penalties along the way. I don’t think they’ll keep up the cover pace in this one either.
