The Jacksonville Jaguars and the Las Vegas Raiders meet Sunday in NFL action from Allegiant Stadium. Here’s a Las Vegas Raiders vs Jacksonville Jaguars prediction. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best Raiders vs Jaguars pick.
Jacksonville Jaguars Betting Preview
The Jaguars won just two of their first seven games, taking out the Colts and Patriots. Since then it’s been a 1-6 skid featuring losses to the Packers, Eagles, Vikings, Lions, Texans and Jets (with a lone win over the Titans).
On Sunday versus the Jets, Jacksonville held a 13-7 edge at the break. The Jags gave up 25 points from there in a 32-25 loss, though. Mac Jones threw for 294 yards, two scores and two picks. Brian Thomas caught both TDs on 10 receptions for 105 yards as the leading receiver.
Las Vegas Raiders Betting Preview
Over on the Raiders’ side, they went 2-2 over their first four games. Las Vegas hit the skids after that, falling to the Broncos, Steelers, Rams, Chiefs, Bengals, Dolphins, Broncos again, Chiefs again and Buccaneers over the next nine games.
On Monday versus Atlanta, the Raiders gave up points in every quarter—but only eight across the final three—in a 15-9 loss. QB Desmond Ridder threw for 208 yards, one TD and two picks while also leading the rush on 28 yards. Jakobi Meyers caught five balls for 59 yards as leading receiver.
Las Vegas Raiders vs Jacksonville Jaguars Prediction
I might take a stab on the Jaguars here. Probably not touching it, though; there’s not a whole lot to like about this matchup unless you’re interested in next year’s draft order. The Jags played pretty well overall on offense versus the lowly Jets in their last appearance, notching 421 total yards (285 passing) and 27 first downs. Jacksonville gave up 400 yards (275 passing) on the other side, though. The Jags had been below 21 points in four straight games prior to that, so the defense is likely going to have to step up in some capacity this weekend.
As for the Raiders, on Monday they played great defense, giving up just 261 yards (93 passing) and 14 first downs. The Las Vegas offense came up with just 16 first downs and 249 yards for themselves, though. The Raiders have scored below 21 points in 10 of the last 11 games, but they’ve also given up 20 points or fewer in two of the last three. This is looking like a low-scoring—and close—matchup.
