The Washington Commanders and the New York Giants meet Sunday in NFL action from MetLife Stadium. Washington enters this one at 7-5 overall. The Commanders beat the Falcons in their last game. As for New York, they’re 7-4 and took a loss to the Cowboys on Thanksgiving. Check back all season long for free NFL picks at Sports Chat Place.

Washington got off to a shaky start, losing to the Lions, Eagles, Cowboys and Titans in their first five games. The Commanders would win five of their next six outings however, taking out the Bears, Packers, Colts, Eagles and Texans.

Washington kept their win streak going against the Falcons on Sunday. The Commanders scored points in every quarter on the way to a tight 19-13 victory. QB Taylor Heinicke posted 138 yards with two scores, and Brian Robinson had 18 carries for 105 yards.

Over on the Giants’ side, they kicked off the year with a 6-1 run and victories over the Titans, Panthers, Bears, Packers, Ravens and Jaguars. New York has gone just 1-3 since then however, falling to the Seahawks, Lions and Cowboys.

In the Thanksgiving matchup versus the Cowboys, the Giants held a 13-7 lead going into the break. New York was outscored 21-7 from there in a 28-20 loss. Daniel Jones threw for 228 yards and a TD, and Saquon Barkley had 39 yards with one score.

The Commanders are 6-0-1 ATS in their last seven overall and 4-0-1 ATS in the last five versus the NFC. Washington is 4-0 ATS in their last four road games.

Meanwhile, the Giants are 6-2 ATS in the last eight overall and 1-4 ATS in their last five versus the NFC East. New York is 0-7 ATS in the last seven in December.

PICK: I’m probably sticking with the Commanders here. You could probably make a good case either way however, and this should be a close game. Washington is on a pretty good run lately, and they were able to take care of a sketchy Falcons team in their last outing. Washington posted 314 total yards (176 rushing) in that one with 20 first downs. The Commanders have 23 or fewer points in eight of their last nine games though, so they’re going to have to rely on the defense to get into a cover. New York has put up 24 or fewer points in 10 of their 11 games though so it’s certainly doable.
