The Cincinnati Bengals and the Washington Commanders meet in week 3 NFL Preseason Action from FedEx Field on Saturday. Who finishes their preseason on a high note? Let’s dive in and find out.

Bengals Settle For Tie Vs. Falcons

The Cincinnati Bengals had a shot at snagging their first win of the preseason but had to settle for a 13-13 tie with the Atlanta Falcons in their last game, sitting at 0-1-1 in the preseason. Jake Browning threw for 140 yards and an interception on 16 of 22 passing while also rushing for a team-high 50 yards. Trevor Siemian threw for 62 yards on 7 of 14 passing while Chase Brown rushed for 18 yards and Cincinnati’s lone touchdown in the tie. On defense, Five different Bengals had a team-high 5 total tackles, while Jalen Davis, Keandre Jones and Owen Carney all had sacks and Joseph Ossai added an interception as well in the game.

Commanders Snap Baltimore’s Preseason Winning Streak

The Washington Commanders pulled off arguably the biggest upset of the preseason despite a short line, upsetting the Ravens 29-28, snapping Baltimore’s 24-game preseason win streak. Sam Howell threw for 188 yards and 2 touchdowns on 19 of 25 passing while Jake Fromm threw for 91 yards and a TD and Jacoby Brissett tossed for 47 yards and an interception on 7 of 11 passing. Chris Rodriguez Jr. led the Commanders on the ground with 5 rushes for 31 yards while Jahan Dotson had a team-high 5 catches for 76 yards to lead the Commanders in receiving. Dyami Brown, Antonio Gibson and Jaret Patterson all had receiving TDs as well in the win for the Commanders. On defense, David Mayo, Percy Butler and Rachad Wildgoose all had a team-high 4 total tackles while Jartavius Martin and Kendall Smith each recorded an interception.

Trends

Cincinnati is 21-5-1 ATS in their last 27 games overall and 37-18 ATS in their last 55 road games while the under is 41-20-3 in their last 64 road games. Washington is 5-1 ATS in their last 6 Saturday games and 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games overall while the over is 9-0 in their last 9 Saturday games.

Chris’ Pick

I’m rolling with the Commanders here. 4.5 points is a lot to lay in a preseason game, but the Commanders have looked pretty good in the preseason, now whether or not that translates to the regular season is another story. That being said, the Bengals haven’t looked great and I just think the focus here is getting to the regular season as healthy as possible. I’ll lay it and play it with Washington here.
