The Predators and Wild renew acquaintances as the teams who are starting to develop a bit of a rivalry meet up in Minnesota.
The Predators come into Tuesday night action having won two games in a row and five of their first nine contests putting them at 11 points this season which is two clear of their opponent tonight, the Minnesota Wild. Nashville is still feeling the effects of losing start defenseman Ryan Suter who bolted for Minnesota via free agency two seasons ago and that transaction has been the catalyst behind what is becoming a pretty fierce rivalry. Pekka Rinne will likely get the nod in goal for the Predators here while Minnesota will counter with Josh Harding.

The Wild are a very solid team on paper as they have depth up front, a decent blue line and a solid goaltending tandem that at the moment is being fronted by Josh Harding while Nik Backstrom recovers from an injury, but they have just three wins to their name thus far. Minnesota is led up front by Zach Parise and Dany Heatley though the latter has yet to record a goal this season and is a big reason why the Wild have underachieved thus far. I loved the Wild on the road against the Predators in Suter’s return to Nashville but it came back to bite us as the Preds got the better of them. However, while the temptation is there to take the Preds as a road dog I think this series is evened up here with a solid effort from Minnesota on home ice.
