The Wild and Jets renew hostilities in Winnipeg on Saturday as these neighbours are starting to develop a pretty nice rivalry.
Minnesota has been among the league’s best so far this season as they have the second stingiest defensive units in the game and have just one regulation loss in their last 10 contests overall making them one of the hottest teams in the league right now. The Wild are built from the crease out as Josh Harding is having a statement season between the pipes and Ryan Suter anchors a very tough defensive unit but Minnesota does have some guys who can bang and score the puck making them a very dangerous team. Harding is the likely candidate to get the call here as he goes one on one with Ondrej Pavelec in the Winnipeg crease.

The Jets sit in the basement of the Central division but are within arm’s reach of moving up and have an opportunity to jump in the stadnings with a much needed home ice win over the Wild. Winnipeg is a solid team but haven’t been able to generate any form of consistent play and their home ice production which is usually among the league’s best has been subpar as they’re just 7-6-2 at the MTS Centre this season. This should be a very tight contest between two physical teams and I am inclined to take the Jets here as I think this is going to formulate into one of the more intense rivalries in the NHL and I like the home team. However, I am sticking with the total and this one should be very low scoring as I see a three goal type of final one way or the other.
